BELMONT IS AN EMERGING RESOURCE COMPANY FOCUSED ON FINDING THE NEXT MAJOR LITHIUM (Li) DEPOSIT IN NEVADA, U.S.A.
The Kibby Basin property is located in Esmeralda County, 65 km north of Clayton Valley, Nevada; which hosts North America’s only producing lithium mine. Albermarle’s Silver Peak Mine.
Further to its initial acquisition of (16) placer mining claims (2,560 acres), Belmont arranged a further staking of 213 x 20 acre additional placer mineral claims totaling approx. 4,260 acres increasing our total Kibby Basin land position to 6,820 acres.
A recently completed gravity survey and 3D interpretation of the data has revealed a distinct anomaly in the middle of the Kibby Basin. The results helped outline the optimal testing areas for drilling. A number of geological factors are present in the Kibby Basin needed for a viable lithium brine operation:
- Arid Climate and enough time to concentrate brine
- Closed basin with a dry or seasonal lake
- Igneous or geothermal activity
- Lithium-rich source rock
- Permeable aquifers
